Support Emergency Nurses Against Workplace Violence!
Workplace violence in the emergency department remains a persistent threat to the lives, health, and well-being of emergency nurses. Without appropriate protocols and supportive policies, it’s also contributing to workforce retention problems helping to drive the national nursing shortage.

Government data reveals that health care workers account for up to 73% of violence-related injuries that require them to miss work. Emergency nurses witness a violent event about once every two months.

The Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act, H.R. 2663/ S. 1176, would require health care and social service employers to develop and implement workplace violence prevention plans specific to their facilities.

Contact your representatives today and urge them to cosponsor and support H.R. 2663/ S. 1176, the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act.
